Business Development Manager - Remote / Hybrid (Forwarding)
About the Opportunity
An established international freight forwarding and customs brokerage is expanding its U.S. sales team and is seeking experienced Business Development Managers throughout the United States. This is an excellent opportunity for successful logistics sales professionals who value autonomy, have experience selling international transportation solutions, and want the support of a well-established organization with a full in-house operations team.
Responsibilities
Develop new business opportunities for international freight forwarding services, including ocean freight, air freight, customs brokerage, compliance, and related logistics solutions.
Prospect and build relationships with importers and exporters moving international freight.
Create and execute strategic account plans to grow market share.
Leverage existing customer relationships and transfer qualified business where appropriate.
Identify key decision-makers and maintain consistent outreach.
Prepare pricing proposals and negotiate transportation solutions that meet customer requirements.
Work closely with internal operations, customs, and logistics teams to ensure successful onboarding and service execution.
Develop customer SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for key accounts.
Stay informed on market trends, trade developments, and customer needs.
Share market intelligence and collaborate with leadership to identify growth opportunities.
Qualifications
7+ years of Business Development or Sales experience within international freight forwarding.
Strong knowledge of Ocean Freight and Air Freight services.
Experience selling customs brokerage and/or customs compliance services is highly preferred.
Understanding of international supply chain and global logistics operations.
Proven history of developing new business and managing customer relationships.
Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Willingness to travel regularly to customer locations.

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $80,000–$110,000, depending on experience and existing business relationships.
Uncapped commission plan with a straightforward 10% commission structure after achieving annual revenue targets.
