Sales Director – Transportation & Logistics

Location: Mid-Atlantic Region | Hybrid
Compensation: $100,000–$120,000 Base + Commission | Estimated OTE ~$150,000

Position Overview

Our client, an established transportation and logistics provider, is seeking an experienced Sales Director to drive new business growth throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

This is an individual-contributor, hunter-focused sales role for someone who enjoys prospecting, developing relationships, and building a book of business from the ground up. The Sales Director will sell customized transportation and logistics solutions to businesses across a variety of industries.

The company offers a broad portfolio of services including courier, final-mile, dedicated transportation, LTL/FTL, warehousing, distribution, and other logistics solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and develop new business opportunities throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

  • Build a book of business through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, and relationship development.

  • Sell customized transportation and logistics solutions to new customers.

  • Develop relationships with supply chain, logistics, procurement, operations, and executive decision-makers.

  • Identify customer transportation challenges and develop solutions based on their operational needs.

  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach through proposal, negotiation, and close.

  • Conduct customer meetings, presentations, and facility visits.

  • Collaborate with operations to successfully onboard and support new accounts.

  • Maintain accurate CRM activity, pipeline information, and sales forecasts.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience within transportation, logistics, supply chain, or related services.

  • Proven track record of generating and closing new business.

  • Experience building a book of business from the ground up.

  • Strong prospecting and consultative selling skills.

  • Experience selling services such as LTL, FTL, final mile, courier, dedicated transportation, freight forwarding, warehousing, distribution, or other logistics solutions.

  • Ability to develop relationships with senior-level decision-makers.

  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Ability to travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region as needed.

Ideal Background

The ideal candidate is a true hunter who enjoys developing new accounts more than managing an established book of business. They are comfortable selling service-based solutions, understand transportation and logistics operations, and have a demonstrated ability to turn new relationships into long-term customers.

Experience selling into industries such as healthcare, pharmaceutical, e-commerce, manufacturing, retail, professional services, or other high-volume transportation users is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary of approximately $100,000–$120,000, depending on experience.
