Job Title: Business Development Coordinator – Produce Logistics

Location: Salinas, CA

Role Type: Full-time w/ Benefits

Compensation: $80,000 - $95,000+

Summary:

We’re seeking a relationship-focused sales professional with experience in freight or logistics, ideally in fresh produce. In this role, you’ll identify and grow new business with produce shippers, build lasting client relationships, and ensure the fast, reliable movement of perishable freight. You'll play a key role in helping growers and distributors move temperature-sensitive goods efficiently and on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new business in the fresh produce and refrigerated freight space

  • Build trust with growers, shippers, and logistics partners

  • Conduct outreach via calls, emails, and client visits

  • Provide timely, customized shipping solutions based on produce seasonality

  • Work with Sales and Operations teams to ensure smooth quoting, booking, and delivery

  • Manage CRM pipeline, track shipments, and communicate updates to customers

  • Hit sales targets and outreach quotas

  • Stay informed on produce market trends and freight needs

Requirements:

  • 2+ years in freight brokerage, sales, or account management (produce logistics preferred)

  • Experience with refrigerated and time-sensitive freight is a plus

  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills

  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of TMS or logistics platforms is a bonus

  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
