About the Role
An asset-based logistics company based in Illinois is seeking an experienced Corporate Account Executive to join their sales team. They will be responsible for developing and fostering professional relationships with existing and potential clients.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, negotiate, and maintain a profitable portfolio of business.
Prospect new accounts, leverage internal resources for high-value opportunities, and support new customer onboarding.
Stay informed about market conditions, transportation innovations, competitor offerings, and pricing; share insights with customers as value-added service.
Serve clients with a focus on both short-term and long-term needs to build loyalty and enduring relationships.
Deliver best-in-class service to enhance customer satisfaction and growth potential.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple locations to manage client expectations and overall transportation programs.
Manage and grow an existing book of business while developing a pipeline of new customers.
Lead strategic, solution-focused conversations with professionalism—even in challenging situations.
Demonstrate consistent revenue growth within the assigned territory.
Engage in customer entertainment and relationship-building activities as appropriate.
Determine profitable pricing structures and present competitive proposals.
Maintain accurate weekly expense reports.
Attend required meetings, reviews, seminars, and company functions.
Keep a detailed electronic activity log and ensure all internal documentation is submitted for creating, modifying, or activating customer information.
Troubleshoot issues during the sales or transportation process and ensure timely resolution.
Qualifications & Skills
Knowledge of Air Freight, Less-Than-Truckload (LTL), Truckload, or multimodal transportation.
Strong prospecting, negotiation, and sales management skills.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with prospects and customers easily and authentically.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly motivated team player with a positive attitude and passion for delivering customer value and generating revenue.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of field sales experience.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain.
Ability to handle rejection professionally while maintaining a positive mindset.
Strong understanding of supply chain solutions and service offerings.
Familiarity with industry terminology and current market trends.
Strong multitasking ability and a sense of urgency.
Independent, driven, and self-motivated work style.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
