Engineering Manager - Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Structural, Architectural - (Northern Virginia)

Compensation: 150,000 - 200,000

Hybrid/On-Site: Northern Virginia Office, US

We are seeking a results-driven Engineering Manager to lead and expand operations and actively take a leadership role in the Northern Virginia region. This position plays a critical role in overseeing projects, fostering technical excellence, developing teams, and driving business growth in the municipal, private, and industrial sectors.

P.E. Licence is required

Compensation: $150,000 - 200,000+

Travel: Approx 10% - 25%

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership & Management: Oversee engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.

  • Technical Expertise: Provide design leadership and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.

  • Team Development & Mentorship: Recruit, build, and mentor an engineering team, fostering career growth and technical development.

  • Business Development: Lead initiatives to expand the firm’s presence in Virginia, develop client relationships, and contribute to proposal and qualification statement preparation.

  • Quality Assurance & Oversight: Conduct reviews of engineering work, providing feedback and technical guidance to maintain high-quality deliverables.

  • Client Engagement: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, representing the firm in meetings and presentations.

  • Field Assessments: Perform on-site evaluations of existing systems and provide strategic recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural Engineering.

  • PE license is required.

  • 8+ years of experience in engineering leadership, managing technical teams, and overseeing multiple disciplines.

  • Proven ability to develop business opportunities and expand regional operations.

  • Strong experience in proposal preparation, including crafting statements of qualifications.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit and Microsoft Office Suite (preferred but not required).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and client-focused approach.

  • Expertise in field investigations and condition assessments of existing infrastructure.

  • Experience leading projects from design through construction, ensuring high-quality execution.
