About the Role
An asset-based logistics company based in Illinois is seeking an experienced Inside Sales Representative to join their sales team. You will be building and creating relationships with your assigned customers and drive results as the first point of contact for their assigned Territory Manager and their Territory Managers customers.
Job Responsibilities:
Serve as an advocate and primary liaison for key client accounts to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
Grow and maintain assigned customer accounts through consistent relationship-building and strategic support.
Collaborate with internal departments to secure terms of sale, including rate negotiations, carrier selection, and procuring the appropriate equipment to meet customer needs.
Safeguard shipment integrity by maintaining clear communication with all internal and external stakeholders while following established processes and procedures.
Work closely with the Carrier Procurement team to keep shippers, consignees, and customers informed of any issues or potential service challenges.
Support Territory Sales Managers by preparing quotes and providing service insights to customers.
Track, monitor, and communicate shipment status updates to ensure a high level of service and transparency.
Handle approximately 30 inbound and outbound calls per day to support overall departmental operations.
Coordinate regularly with all parties involved in the shipment lifecycle, including shippers, bill-to contacts, and consignees.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
2+ years of experience in business development, sales, logistics, or customer relationship management.
Proven ability to service high-value or multimillion-dollar accounts while supporting both new and existing sales opportunities.
Strong ability to establish, cultivate, and maintain productive working relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to perform under pressure and meet time-sensitive demands.
Capable of managing complex transactions with accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Demonstrates drive, assertiveness, passion, and dedication in supporting assigned customers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
